INTRODUCTION
The theme of the 3rd RCNRM is "Sustainable Development in ASEAN through Strengthening Networking in Natural Resources and Materials" where focus is given on value adding the ASEAN natural resources for high quality materials product that would improve the well being of the society. The 3rd Regional Conference on Natural Resources and Materials (RCNRM 2010) aims to bring together academic scientists, researchers, industry practitioner, students to exchange and share their experiences and research results on all aspects of Natural Resources and Materials Engineering. In this conference, a special focus will be given on the evaluation and value adding of the mineral resources in the South East Asia region where there are several untapped resources that has high potential to be value added for the production of high quality products in ASEAN region. This conference is also to enhance the development of Engineering Education especially in the field of Natural Resources and Materials Engineering and networking amongst participants from ASEAN region and Japan.

About RC
The first regional conference on the Natural Resources and Materials Engineering was held in Phnom Penh in 2008 whilst the second one was held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia with the theme of "Sustainable Society Development in ASEAN through Strengthening Networking in Interdisciplinary Research on Natural Resources and Materials". RCNRM is an annual conference organized by a member institution of AUNSEED-Net or Universiti Sains Malaysia. The conference is sponsored by The Southeast Asia Engineering Education Development Network (AUN/SEED-Net) Japan and Asean Foundation.
The conference provides an opportunity for researchers from ASEAN countries to meet with their colleagues from other parts of the world. The conference is expected to pave a path in the advancement of Natural Resources and Materials Engineering technology, as well as its application especially in developing countries. This conference will be
of particular interest and benefit to scientists, academicians, management, consultants, government authorities and agencies, and interested individual to keep abreast with the latest development in such issues.

CONFERENCE TOPICS CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS
